We are passionate about these Projects
Lift the Lid on Mental Illness is Australian Rotary Health’s overarching campaign brand for mental health research.
The campaign, started in 2016 in partnership with Rotary Clubs of Victoria. The events were such a success that it has now been extended to all Rotary Clubs across Australia.
Each year approximately 1-in-5 Australians will experience a mental illness and in order to help future generations of young Australians, we need to look ahead through research and find out how we can prevent this type of illness occurring.
You can support this wonderful initiative by walking or getting involved in one of our other campaign initiatives such as:
HAT DAY
On World Mental Health Day (October 10), you are invited to hold an event and wear your most eye-catching hat.
The statistics are sobering: Intimate partner violence is the most common type of violence against women, affecting 30 percent of women worldwide. As many as 38 percent of murders of women are committed by an intimate partner.
Recognizing the desperate need for domestic-violence services in their communities, Rotary clubs throughout Australia and New Zealand are fundraising and partnering with charities to raise awareness and work on prevention and victim support.
When ending polio seemed insurmountable, Rotary stepped in.
Rotary is committed to helping end domestic violence!
Ending polio forever
Rotary has been working to eradicate polio for over 35 years, and our goal of ridding the earth of this disease is in sight. We started in 1979 with vaccinations for 6 million children in the Philippines. Today, Afghanistan and Pakistan are the only countries where polio remains endemic.
